The Amazing Race — Generating Ideas from Shape and Story

In this tutorial, I create The Amazing Race from start to finish, developing a character illustration through an improvised, shape-driven process.

I focus on decisions around transforming abstract shapes into readable forms, building character and story through iteration, and making compositional choices in response to emerging ideas.

This is a complete, uninterrupted painting session with voice-over, including exploratory changes and course corrections as the image develops.
